Chris Molanphy is a senior writer and strategic media specialist with nearly
two decades of experience in financial communications.
At Gargiulo + Partners, he composes executive letters and presentations, brochures, and position
papers; counsels firms on plain-English disclosure in a range of media; manages web and
multimedia projects; and advises on press strategy. Prior to joining Gargiulo + Partners,
Chris spent eight years with J.P. Morgan, most recently as head of investor relations for
JPMorgan Partners Latin America. Earlier, in Morgan's Corporate Communications department,
he handled both press relations and editorial content.
Chris is also a music critic whose work focuses on the intersection of art and commerce.
He has appeared on National Public Radio and presented at the EMP Pop Conference. His work has
appeared in Billboard, CMJ, and RollingStone.com. Since 2007, he has written the pop-chart analysis column "100 & Single," which currently runs at the Village Voice music blog. He is the author of the book Kurt Cobain: Voice of a Generation.
Chris holds a B.A. from Yale University.
